Pianosa Island

Buoy Sp 4

Located right next to Scoglio della Scola, this dive mainly takes place on various pinnacles rising from the seabed at 40 meters up to 12 meters below the surface.

An initial swim in open water is required to find the first pinnacle, which indicates the direction to the others, but the scenery becomes lively as soon as we reach the outer ridge, where the number of brown groupers is impressive, as are their size.

Being less frequented than the other buoys (opened only recently), the fish are still shy and allow divers to approach less closely than at other sites around the island. There is also a constant presence of numerous dentex and often large amberjacks.

On the way back, the dive can be concluded near the wall of the rock, observing parrotfish, brown meagre and sometimes a feeding school of hunting barracuda.
