Capraia Island
Scoglione Rock
Almost in front of Baia dei Porcili we find a rock detached from the coast which, to tell the truth, is not very large but is called “Lo Scoglione”. Mooring is carried out sheltered by the rock on the black volcanic sand that is very characteristic of Capraia Island, and from here we head towards the open sea and notice a drop descending which, between very suggestive terraces and canyons, exceeds 40 meters in depth.
Pelagic fish are abundant, while among the cracks we search for groupers, brown meagre and moray eels. Returning towards the emerged part, we instead notice a lot of life consisting of schools of small fish such as salema, seabream and numerous nudibranchs.
