From a famous Italian movie we borrowed the phrase: “your satisfaction is our greatest reward”!
This is the philosophy of the Diving in Elba staff, who offer the highest level of service to make life easier for the tourists visiting our beautiful island.
And here is the story of a special day written by one of our clients: You wake up and think, “Here we go again! Work, school, kids, the usual busy day full of commitments…” then suddenly you remember… “I’M ON HOLIDAY!” And so, calmly, you get dressed and go downstairs for breakfast. You’re enjoying your coffee when your dive buddy walks in. Until yesterday you didn’t know each other, but your shared passion for the sea and scuba diving has already made you friends.
“Good morning! How many dentex were there at Scoglietto yesterday!? Incredible! Last night I looked at the dive photos and the nudibranch you showed me turned out great!”
And you reply, “I’m glad! Maybe send me that photo. Do you know where they’re taking us today?”
“Yes, we’re going to S. Lucia, a shoal between Scoglietto and Capo Enfola.”
You chat while finishing breakfast and then agree to meet at the diving center. When you arrive, the Diving in Elba staff has already prepared your equipment; all that’s left is a routine check, with a few jokes in between, until you’re told it’s time to leave. During the trip, the guide — even more enthusiastic than you about the dive — gives a detailed briefing full of naturalistic and historical references… you don’t even realize it, but you’ve already arrived at the dive site and they’re about to drop the anchor when someone shouts, “Look! You can see the barracudas from the surface!”
You lean over and see about thirty sleek, silvery shapes gliding beneath the boat.
You think, “This looks promising!” And indeed, once underwater, you’re amazed by the richness of colors and the variety of species, all framed by a sinuous ribbon of dozens of barracudas following you throughout the entire dive!
You look at the wall covered with Parazoanthus, commonly called sea daisies because of their yellow color and flower-like shape. You get ready, check where the sun is, position yourself, and take a beautiful photo with the colorful wall and the sun’s rays creating a stunning glow behind you. This will be one of the many memories you’ll look at during winter, thinking back on how wonderful your summer holiday was.
In what feels like a moment, more than 40 minutes have already passed — it’s time to head back to the boat. Your buddy is beside you; you exchange an OK signal — ready to ascend — nod to the guide who has just called you back to the anchor line, check your gauges, and slowly make your way back to the surface. On board, the crew is waiting to help you climb back onto the boat, and enthusiastic stories immediately begin with your fellow divers: someone saw something you hadn’t noticed, someone wants to see your photos, someone is already planning the next dive!
This is the kind of holiday a diver dreams of and wishes for. On Elba Island, not only is it possible — you can experience it in a relaxed, safe, and fun way! A heartfelt thank you to the STAFF of Diving in Elba.
